This series is very much like Gossip Girl, where there is an anonymous source known as Pandora, who sends out blasts with information, focusing on the West, Sterling, and Dane Golden and their lives.
This book starts off with Blue Riley, a Southsider, who attends a party on the Northside where she catches the eye of West. A month later West is searching for a credit card in his father’s office where he comes across a cellphone with half naked photos of Blue on it. Thinking she is having an affair with his father, West vows to destroy Blue’s life.
Blue has worked hard to attend Cypress Prep, an elite school on the Northside, where she now must deal with the Golden boys, mean girls, an alcoholic father, a younger sister who she must raise, an older brother who’s in prison, and an ex-boyfriend.
West and Blue spend their time at school trying to get to one another. West plasters the halls with the article about Blue’s brother’s arrest, and she spray paints his football uniform with obscenities.
Even though West is convinced that Blue is having an affair with his father, he can’t fight his feelings for her and eventually gives in, and the two have a heavy make-out session in the school pool, where a photo is taken and posted by Pandora.
West’s dad sees the photo, and he knows who Blue is, and admits to West that he had an affair with Blue. Of course, this admission is to cover why he really has the risky photos of Blue on his secret phone. West believes his father and starts treating Blue horribly again, even after the two are intimate.
The books ends off with a video of West and Blue in bed together being shared on Pandora.
This was a very emotional book and the way the authors wrote Blue’s character makes you really feel for her. She has gone through so much and it’s like the universe just won’t give her a break.
There were many times where I just wanted to climb into the pages and just give her a hug and that’s when you know authors have written an amazing book. I love it when the book leaves me with an array of feelings.
