In the third Montana Mountain Men book, the family legacy of love at first sight hits Granger when he stops to help Alice when her RV breaks down in Rockhead Point.
For the past five years Alice has moved with the seasons, finding seasonal work across the country, never making friends or making connections with people since her high school counsellor told her she’s too clingy and people don’t like clingy people. So, to prevent herself from becoming a burden to anyone, she went to the extreme and never formed any sort of relationship or friendship.
When Granger meets Alice, he instantly moves her into the Barnett home under the guise of providing her somewhere to stay while his brothers fix her RV. When he or his family try to engage with her, she provides little information and replies to their questions with one-word answers.
Granger tells her she is his, and asks her to spend one weekend with him and if she doesn’t feel anything he will take her back to town, although he has no intention of ever letting her go
They do get to know one another, and it turns out her clinginess is exactly wants Granger wants, making them perfectly compatible
