Atlantis has risen, the gods are back temporarily locked in the underworld, and Sonaris claims to be her True Mate and made a deal with her, it’s safe to say that the year of purple was not kind to Maddison James. Hopefully the year of aqua will treat her kindly.
Maddi finds out, through Mab, that the gods are sharing power to break themselves out of the prison Sonaris trapped them in, and they have one more month. She tells Maddi that she needs to train with Connor and Asher if they want to bring down the gods.
Jesse has a hard time dealing with his feelings throughout the book, and I feel for him, he was there for Maddi when they thought Asher was dead and it feels a little like she used him, but I also understand that Asher is her True Mate.
Sonaris takes Maddi to his private island and tells her that his favor from her is for Maddi to stay with him for a month, using it as an excuse for her to get to know him. Maddi finds out that Sonaris just wants a mate that is powerful enough for him to draw from.
Maddi gets a message to Asher, through the animals in the ocean, and he comes to her rescue and kills Sonaris taking his power into himself. Axl walks Maddi through taking the extra power from Asher and distributing it into herself and the other four Atlanteans. Axl takes too much power and almost dies, but Asher makes him the new god of the ocean.
We’re about halfway through the book at this point, and you have so much to look forward to, including golden dragons, girl power, new and old gods, and of course the happily ever after. But it’s almost time to say goodbye to all our favorite characters, I really hope you enjoy this series as much as I did.
