Atlantis is rising and Maddison James is entering her second year at the Supernatural Academy and so begins the year of purple.
Maddi’s second year starts off normally with attending classes, searching for the Atlantean library, and being with Asher.
One day out in the commons, as she’s walking towards Asher, a lightning bolt (from the gods) comes through the barrier and almost strikes Maddi, but Asher pushes her out the way. The two spend time in the infirmary, and when Maddi wakes and can’t see Asher, her magic goes haywire. (This is a prelude to them being True Mates.)
Asher must be kept in a tank of water to prevent the energy he’s giving off from doing damage or harming someone. Maddi finds out that Asher is dying and gets into the tank with him before he explodes and disappears.
The day before Maddi is meant to go to the area where Atlantis is rising, she goes to the library to hide and finds herself walking right to the back, where she meets Mab (a fairy) who informs her that she is the keeper of the Atlantean library and takes her through a barrier into it. She runs off to inform Calen, Jesse, Axl, and Rone that she found the library, and they get to researching.
At the site of Atlantis, Connor drags Maddi under the water, and the goddess Lotus does to them what she did to Asher, but as it turns out they aren’t killed (just their mortal bodies, allowing their demigod inside to be reborn, including Asher) and Maddi finds out that Connor is her biological brother.
This is where I’m going to end off the recap of what happens. We’re about halfway through the book, and things get heated up from here, but I don’t want to give away all the excitement that happens. But, just know Asher isn’t dead but he is changed, and is very different towards Maddi.
I felt bad for Jesse in this book, he clearly has feelings for Maddi, but he isn’t her True Mate and as much as she cares for him, she’ll always love Asher.
