After his father and president of the Ruthless Brothers MC is killed by one of their own, Ryker plans to take his revenge against the enemy in his MC, however, before he can enact his plan the traitor is killed by an assassin, and Ryker assumes it’s a Reaper.
Scarlett has spent her entire life growing up in the Reapers MC and used for her firearm and fighting skills, but she has a plan to leave, that is until the Ruthless Brothers come into the Reapers’ clubhouse and kill everyone, and they take Scarlett back with them.
During the book Scarlett develops a relationship with Ryker, Gray, and Emmett, and grows closer to Axel. These men assume she was just a club whore for the Reapers. However, by the end of the book they find out that she was hired by Axel, without him knowing it was her, to kill the man responsible for Ryker’s father’s death.
She proves her worth when the Devil’s Brutes make a play for the Ruthless Brother’s property and deals. She also develops a close friendship with Emmet’s sister Emily, and Gray’s mom Maggie.
At the end of the book Scarlett protects the MC when the Devil’s Brutes show up guns blazing, and she is outed as the person responsible for the former assassination by Gray’s brother Shift, who is also Scarlett’s friend.
I love books that have a strong female lead and who holds her own, and in true KC Kean style, she doesn’t disappoint in this series. Scarlett has quickly become one of my favourite female characters, she is not only skilled in weaponry, but she has strength of mind and has no problem standing up to the men in the book.
Gray is just a cuddly bear, but he knows when he has to put aside his sweet nature and be “ruthless”. He is the typical jokester, but also wears his heart on his sleeve, and I cannot wait to see how his relationship with Scarlett develops.
Axel’s past has damaged him, but he slowly starts to trust Scarlett, and I am hoping that she manages to help him heal.
