What do you do when you need a job and the man you now work for is devoid of emotion? You write postscripts each day expressing your opinions on said man, right?

When Catherine sinks all her money into a house to fix and flip, by the father of her unborn baby, she is left needing to find a job to pay for the repairs. She ends up working as an assistant for Elliot Levy, who is a CEO, and has the emotional capacity of a cyborg (this is according to Catherine).

To make working for Elliot a little easier, each day Catherine writes a scathing postscript about Elliot, on the edge of his daily schedule, before tearing the strip off and hiding them in an envelope in her drawer.

When Catherine goes on maternity leave, Elliot notices that the schedules his temporary assistant hands him each morning are longer than that of Catherine’s, he goes into a bit of a tizz.

After he discovers the envelope of postscripts, hilariousness and falling in love ensues.

I fond this book to be completely hilarious, it was easy for me to picture Catherine in my mind furiously jotting down each postscript before tearing each slip of paper off.

It was even more funny to imagine Elliot’s reaction to wondering why the schedule Daniel gave him was on a longer piece of paper than that of Catherine’s. As someone with a little OCD I know how frustrating that change would’ve been.

Everything about Catherine and Elliot’s blossoming relationship was sweet and funny and made for a great read. This is another book I will be reading more than once, especially when I need a little pick-me-up escape from reality.
