If you enjoyed Bonnie Bennett and Beau Barnett’s love story in Property of the Mountain Man, you’re going to love the hilariousness that is Huck Barnett and Cora Cunningham’s journey to wedded bliss.

The Barnett family legacy has struck again; this time it’s with Bonnie’s best friend Cora.

Huck becomes very overprotective of Cora and the way she lives, she’s a party girl and he wants to keep her safe. She leaves her apartment key under her welcome mat because she keeps losing them, so he installs a keypad lock on her apartment door.

Huck feels like he won’t be able to keep Cora, so he does what any sane man would do, he tampers with her birth control. He keeps giving Cora the sugar pill in her birth control packs. Cora thinks he’s sweet by reminding her to take her contraceptive, only to find out later in the book that he purposefully got her pregnant to keep her.

I absolutely love this series and have read these books multiple times. Gemma Weir just has this way of creating characters that while are frustrating, they are so lovable and despite the lengths they will go to, you can’t help but root for the Barnett in the end.

Ladies, if we learn anything from romance books, then we have learned this: do not let your partner near your birth control.

I think out of all the books in this series, this is probably my favorite one.

The next book in the Mountain Man series is Kept by the Mountain Man.
