This book starts off with Ricky taking Blue back to his house so she can hide from the world, and West admitting to Joss that he wasn’t the one who released the video, admitting to himself that Blue is someone who matters to him.

Blue goes back to school where she is ridiculed and propositioned by other members of the football team. West tries to explain to her that he wasn’t responsible for the video, but Blue doesn’t believe him and puts him in his place. She then gets a phone call from her sister, who has been bullied at her school and asks Blue to get her. West overhears this conversation and tries to offer to help but Blue tells him off.

Ricky shows up to Cypress Prep after football practice and he and West get into an altercation, before he leaves, Ricky makes an ominous comment about Golden’s and the Riley family. This leads West to admit everything he knows to his brothers. West and his brothers start to doubt that their father had an affair with Blue.

At an away game, West admits to Blue how he feels about her and that it was Parker who released the video, however, he doesn’t tell her the reason why he can’t let people know it wasn’t him.

West comes clean about the photo he found, and Blue calls Ricky with West there and asks Ricky to tell her that she sent the photo to him and that he didn’t share it with anyone. Blue makes a comment about her brother and West starts to realize that maybe the connection isn’t Blue and his father, but rather Hunter and his father.

Vin shows up at Blue’s house and threatens to call CPS on her or have her and Scarlett sold off if she doesn’t break-up with West.

While this was an emotional rollercoaster of a book, I must say I really enjoyed how Blue didn’t just give in to West and made him grovel for her attention and forgiveness. Readers, this is a very important lesson we can learn from Blue. She shows her true inner strength and character despite social pressure.

It was also heartwarming to read about West growing as a person and not just being a manwhore anymore, he really puts the effort in to win back Blue.
