We start off the final installment of this trilogy with West, his brothers, and Joss, speeding through Cypress Pointe to Blue’s home after a post on Pandora states that Vin was seen at her house.
Blue tells West what happened with his father and asks him not to confront him about it as she is afraid for Scarlett. Blue tells West about her brother telling her that their phones aren’t safe to use, prompting him to think how far his father would go. West vows that he will do whatever it takes to keep her and her sister safe, starting off with having a security system installed.
Meanwhile, a task force has been pt together by Blue’s father’s former police partner, Detective Roby, to investigate the disappearance of Southside girls.
After overhearing his parents fighting about a ledger with names and dollar amounts, West meets up with Ricky. The two of them conclude that the names must be the girls that have been kidnapped and sold into a trafficking ring, run by Ricky’s uncle and West’s father.
Blue contact Detective Roby to let him know what happened with West’s father, and while he can’t do anything with the current information, Detective Roby informs her to call him if anything else happens.
Pandora delivers an envelope to Ble, in which she finds a proof of a campaign poster. The poster states that Vin Golden is running for Mayor of Cypress Pointe, she gives this information to Detective Roby, to which Detective Roby tells Blue that this is probably why Vin wanted her to break things off with West.
When Blue and Scarlett go with West and his brothers to Louisiana after Christmas break, to visit West’s mother’s father, they ask him to help with taking down Vin.
I don’t want to give away the ending, but I promise you there are twists and turns you won’t see coming, and Vin’s downfall is epic.
West really redeems himself as a character in this book. The way he goes above and beyond for Blue, and her family is unbelievable. It goes to show that two broken people can truly heal one another.
This is the end of Blue and West’s love story, but if you’re curious about what happens to his brothers and Ricky, you can read all about them in Pretty Boy D, Mr Silver, and Sexy Beast.
