In the prologue of this book, we find out how Effie became to be bitten and how she lost her memories of her past. From chapter one, the book continues from where Forgotten ended with Effie’s mates fighting Weylin’s pack and a shifted Caedman coming to her rescue tearing apart anyone who hurt her.
In her attempt to help Dakota by healing him, Effie unintentionally heals everyone who was caught up in the fight, including Weylin’s pack.
After the fight debacle, Effie and all her mates pay a visit to Gerald and Theresa to confront them about selling her and the circumstances surrounding the night they found her. She learns that they were going to turn her away until their alpha told them to keep her as they could sell her when she was older. Effie also finds out that she had a necklace on when they found her, which Theresa stole but does give back when threatened.
Tore recognizes the necklace as containing magic and is thankful that Thereasa and Gerald didn’t know its true value. Ryder explains that the necklace has the mark of the sun god and moon goddess and is not from Earth but rather the divine realm.
When Julian and Effie touch the necklace at the same time, they are thrown into a memory of Julian’s that was locked away and find out that he and Effie met when they were younger and he was the one who bit her. A scuffle ensues and through all the confusion and yelling, Effie somehow transports herself and her mates away from the Whitepaw Pack

Even though this book was shorter than the previous two, a lot more happens in it so there is less fluff used for filling pages.
I really liked how you can feel just how much Effie’s mates love her through the way the author describes how they treat her. Despite having lost her memories, grown up in an abusive household and pack, and being targeted at school, Effie never loses her empathy for others, which I found truly amazing.
