Shy, sweet Everly Matters and her two friends have just graduated university with no job prospects, nowhere to live, and no boyfriends. So, they do what any sane drunk college graduate would do, they sign up to be mail order brides.

Silas Sutton has sold his company for millions and moved to the backwoods of Alaska where you need a plane to get to the city and back. He has everything he’s ever wanted, except a woman to cook, clean, and warm his bed. Silas’ solution to this small problem, buy a wife.

The book becomes almost comical (in the best way), when the newlyweds return to Silas’ cabin and Everly sees how she is meant to live for the rest of her life. The way the need to navigate this situation had me in stitches.

While this is a modern-day version of a mail order bride romance book, it still leaves you with warm, fuzzy feelings. I love how Everly didn’t have to kiss a bunch of toads to find her prince charming, and how Silas realizes that a wife is more than a cook and clean.

This is a great short book to read on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine and a few snacks while enjoying the summer breeze.
