In Wings of Snow, we begin with Ilara and Cailis seeking refuge from Drachu, king of the Lochen Fae. Drachu tells Ilara that he has been waiting for her, is happy for her to learn who she really is and wants to teach her about her kind, the Fae with black hair.

Ilara still cannot access her affinities after they were tethered when she was zapped at the fields she had been working on in the previous book.

Meanwhile, back in the Court of Winter the king orders Prince Norivun to track Ilara down and return her to Lord Woodbury, who he wants her to marry and have children with the strengthen their race. He gives Norivun one month to bring her back, this is the same timeframe for his own wedding to Georgyanna.

Norivun finds out that his father is behind the orem dying and is hoping to invade the Southern part of the continent where the Nolus Fae live.

Ilara leaves a note for Norivun on the shores of the island she is on stating where she is going with Drachu and coats the letter in her scent.

Drachu takes Ilara and Cailis to their temple, where they’ll call upon the gods to find out how and why her magic is tethered. The god Zorifel releases her magic, and blesses her with two more affinities, and when her soul returns to her body, Ilara finds she has white feathered wings now. Drachu uses this as way to tether her to him, and he is able channel her magic using the diamond he wears.

Norivun finds Ilara’s note and he and his guards make their way to the temple where they confront Drachu, but his son Tylen, who is null, uses his magic to stop Norivun from using his magic against his father before they disappear. They take Cailis to stay with their parents and brother, while Ilara and Norivun set out to find out how the king is suppressing the orem.

They travel to the Nolus Fae, where they meet with the king’s nephew, Bavar Fieldstone, and inform him of what is happening with the orem and how this could lead the Solis Fae to invade their lands. Bavar agrees to help as the being that is assisting the king is from Earth and he is part of the Supernatural Forces, which monitor supernatural beings on Earth.

Norivun, his guards, and Ilara travel to the Lochen Fae’s city in the sea and after a fight retrieve the necklace the tethers Ilara to Drachu, Norivun hides the necklace in his safe in his rooms at the Court of Winter.

When they go back to Bavar, they meet Fire Wolf, who is a hunter, and they mistphase back to Isalee to the fields that are dying, and Fire Wolf detects dark magic in the field that was created by a warlock who has been killing Solis Fae to create the magic.

The group travel to Earth to meet with an acquaintance of Fie Wolf who helps them find the counter spell to remove the warlock’s magic. They perform the counter spell, and the warlock shows up, before they escape, they record everything that happened at the field with a looking glass. Ilara’s part of the fairy bargain is complete.

Before they return to the Court of Winter, Ilara and Norivun get married as eternal partners, meaning they are eternally bound to one another.
