He immediately scents that she is a shifter and tries to question her about it before realizing that she doesn’t know what she is. Female dragons have become rare and when one is found, they become a commodity.

It is up to Knox, his twin brother Easton, and their horde to not only protect Hayden, but also help her navigate the supernatural world and the threats to her.

This book ends on a cliffhanger where Hayden is hit with dragon fire while trying to save Easton.

While I like how Hayden takes everything in stride, and she is a likeable character, I must admit that Cael is my favorite. He’s sweet and funny, and absolutely head-over-heels for Hayden and would do anything to keep her safe.

The next book in this series is Midnight of Ashes.
