Brielle, now bearing Lucifer’s mark, has survived her first year at Fallen Academy and numerous kidnapping attempts by Lucifer and his demons.
Brielle and Shea start their second year by training to partake in a fight contest to win enough money to buy Brielle’s mother’s slave contract, they are trained by their celestial boyfriends and win the contest.
However, on the night of the contest Brielle runs into an old friend, who is a seer, and tells her he had a vision of her in the underworld working with Lucifer to create new demons.
In this book it is Brielle’s brother’s turn to be awakened and he turns out to be a shifter that needs a pack, so instead of him attending Fallen Academy, he is sent to live with others like him until he can get a grip on his gift.
The book ends off with Lucifer opening a portal at Lincoln’s award ceremony, slitting Brielle’s throat in front of everyone, and taking her to the underworld, leaving everyone to think she is dead.
I didn’t want to add in too many details, as I want readers to go into this book with only a broad view of what happens but to enjoy all the little moments. Even though I have read this series many times, I fall in love with all the characters all over again each time.
