Fallon Umbra thinks she is a latent wolf shifter and, on her way, to scatter her grandmother’s ashes she is transported to another world where she discovers, she’s not a wolf shifter at all, but rather a gryphon.

While flying, another gryphon (Zeph) attacks her and knocks her to the ground, and when she wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar place.

She is questioned by the leaders of this pride of gryphons and tries to explain that she has no idea where she is and always thought she was a wolf shifter.

Zeph and Ryn, the leaders of the pride, order her to be cleansed of any residual magic, and when she is taken to a bathroom to be washed, she jumps out the window, followed by Ryn. She lands in a marketplace and takes off running into the trees.

Zeph and Ryn eventually catch up to Falon when she’s in a hot spring, they eventually convince Falon to allow them to cleanse her, to ensure she is not being protected by magic and sent to destroy them and their pride.

After everything is done, the two men question Falon again and she gives them the same answers, proving she was never lying. When she asks them to let her go home, they admit that they don’t know how to get her home. They decide to keep Falon with them, so she is safe from Lazza (the bad guy in the book).

The next day, she learns from the seamstress, that with her hair being white she is highborn. She also learns that there is a battle going on between the Hidden (Zeph’s pride) and the Avowed,

Both Falon and her gryphon start to feel a pull towards Zeph and Ryn, and she manages to tie herself to both men after they “answer her call”.

I won’t give away anymore of the book but trust me it gets really good. Things heat up between Falon and the new men in her life, and she learns more about herself and her family from a peculiar source. I also love her relationship with her gryphon and the names she calls her, it’s very entertaining and adds that comic relief to an otherwise more serious book.

The next book in this series is The Avowed.
