This post is going to be a little different than my others, as this book is part of a series that, like most of the fantasy romance books I’ll write about, I have read numerous times, and I fall in love with the storyline and characters a little more each time.

I read on a Kindle, although I do have a few paperback novels, and what I started doing was using my Kindle Unlimited to find books that I thought would interest me. If I enjoy the book and know it’s something I read more than once, I buy it. This series falls under the “I liked it so much, I bought it” category.

In the first book we are introduced to the characters, the main love interests are Tatum Powers and Gage Alston, and the world of Lumens and Shades. Basically, the side of good and the side of evil.

Tatum has grown up with just her grandmother, without the knowledge of demons and angels, and the closer she gets to her18th birthday the sicker her grandmother becomes. This whole time Tatum has believed that the cause of her illness is dementia but ultimately discovers that she has been cursed by the headmaster of the Shade Academy.

To cure her grandmother, Tatum enlists Gage’s help to steal his father’s talisman to cure her grandmother.

The book ends on an epic cliffhanger, and I suggest reading these reviews in order and along with the books, so as not to give away too many spoilers.

This book grabs you from the first chapter and, trust me, once you start reading it, you’ll want to make sure you have all three books so you can continue this almost Romeo and Juliet story, with all its plot twists and side stories.

There are absolutely no spicy scenes, so the book is 100 percent action/adventure without distractions.
