Rising Reign – Tessa Hale

We pick up where we ended off in Eclipsed Empire, with the bar being set alight and Wren kidnapped by her father and taken to his territory in the confusion, where she is whipped and left in the pit as punishment for leaving.

Marcelle, Bastian’s second, drags Wren from the pit and presents her to Bastian who informs her that she’ll have to fight to earn food and shelter. At this moment the Diablos Pack hacks their security cameras and sees this, and with confirmation that Wren is in Louisiana, the pack gets ready to rescue her.

Wren defeats three pack members, and as Bastian orders another to fight her, their healer informs him another fight will result in Wren not being able to reproduce. The healer turns out to be Hera, who had previously healed her at the Diablos Pack house, who tells her to be ready before handing her a knife from Kingston.

The Diablos Pack makes their move and during the fighting, Wren kills Marcelle. Kingston is shot as the pack leaves, and when they get to the safe house Hera tells Wren that to save him, she must bond with him, which works. While at the safe house, Ender’s contact tells him that Bastian took Marcelle’s body to a coven of dark witches who brought him back, and that they are gearing up for a fight.

This is as much as I am giving away for this book, I have been waiting so patiently for the release of this finale, and I want you to enjoy it as much as I did. I absolutely loved how the story concluded, so it was definitely worth the wait, and in true Tessa Hale style, she doesn’t disappoint.
