It’s been about a month since Willa was hit with the curse from Rau, splintering her soul, and now with the Abcurses treating her like one of them, it is starting to affect the dynamics at Blesswood.
Some dwelllers are refusing to complete their chores until all dwellers do theirs, and sols are upset that dwellers aren’t just doing as they’re told and starting to think for themselves. With people actively out to get at Willa now, the brothers step in and protect her from harm.
The dwellers start to form a rebellion and have secret meetings where they discuss their treatment, and Willa’s relationship with the Abcurses.
The gods come to Blesswood and host an obstacle course for the sols to partake with the excuse that they are actively searching for a new god, and they call Willa and Siret to take part in the course. During the event Willa is magically saved while in a mud pit, she assumes that it was Siret that saved her, but he tells her it wasn’t him and suggests that she may have saved herself.
During the banquet after the course, Rau causes chaos, and during it he kidnaps Willa and takes her to Topia. While in Topia, Cyrus who is the Neutral god, ties Willa’s soul to him instead of the brothers. Cyrus takes her to his private home in Topia, which no one knows the location of, with the intention of handing her over to Rau. She escapes through a secret tunnel and ends up in the banishment cave where she finds out the servers are kept there because of a spell and promises to free them.
When they return to Blesswood Academy, they walk into an all-out war between the sols and dwellers.
I left out a lot of the more intricate details which makes up the plot, but I will tell you that there are some really funny moments in the book, like the prank Siret and Willa play on the other four. Another part that had me giggling in when Rau releases some of his chaos magic at the banquet and the boys start fighting over Willa.
